Dear Forecastle Friends and World Travelers ~

Season’s Greetings. Welcome to the November Captain’s Log. Very busy times above deck, from the announcement of our 2nd annual “Halfway to Forecastle” mini-fest to the launching of music, art, and film submissions for 2009. Here is our November developments:

The 2nd annual “Halfway to Forecastle” mini-fest was announced this month, taking place Saturday, January 17th at The Green Building, 732 E. Market Street in downtown Louisville, KY. Please mark your iCal. Presented by Havana Cola, a portion of proceeds will benefit efforts to establish the first Lower Ohio Riverkeeper Chapter, a project inspired by Riverkeeper attorney and Forecastle speaker Robert. F. Kennedy Jr to protect and preserve our nation’s waterways. The project is being overseen by The Kentucky Waterways Alliance - a citizen’s organization dedicated to protecting and restoring Kentucky’s waterways through advocacy and grassroots awareness.
